In our games
Our games don't collect personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics and no advertising in them, and nothing you do in a game is sent to us.
Beyond the Last Light keeps your progress (your current descent, your journal and your results) on your phone, and it goes when you delete the game. If you turn on morning reminders, your phone schedules them itself; nothing is sent anywhere. When you share a descent, the game hands a picture and a line of text to your phone's share menu, and it goes only where you send it.
If you test a game through Apple TestFlight or Google Play, Apple or Google may pass us crash reports and any feedback you choose to send, with your tester name and email address. We use these only to fix the game.
Analytics
If you allow analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google receives the pages you view, your browser and device type, and an approximate location based on your IP address. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_…. We keep this data for 14 months.
If you decline, nothing from Google Analytics is loaded and no cookies are set. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again. It isn't sent to us. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of any page.
Beta sign-ups
When you sign up to test a game, we collect your email address, your name if you give it, the type of phone you use, and which game you signed up for. We use these only to invite you to that beta and to contact you about it.
The form is processed and stored by Netlify. If you're invited, we'll add your email address to Apple TestFlight or Google Play's testing programme, depending on your phone. We keep your details until the beta ends or you ask to be removed, whichever comes first.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify, which records IP addresses in its server logs to run and secure the service.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent at any time. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
